Radiative Decays of Decuplet to Octet Baryons in Light Cone QCD
The radiative decays of decuplet to octet baryons are analyzed within the
light cone QCD sum rules framework. The electromagnetic transition form factors
for these decays are calculated up to twist four accuracy for photon wave
functions as well as including first order strange quark mass corrections. A
comparison of our results with predictions of lattice theory and existing
experimental data is presented.Comment: 43 pages, 30 figures, uses graphicx and amssymb, included a more

Magnetic and quadrupole moments of light spin-1 mesons in light cone QCD sum rules
The magnetic and quadrupole moments of the light-vector and axial-vector
mesons are calculated in the light cone QCD sum rules. Our results for the
static properties of these mesons are compared with the predictions of lattice
QCD as well as other approaches existing in the literature.Comment: 11 pages, NO figures, LaTeX formatte
Light Cone QCD Sum Rules Analysis of the Axial N -> Delta Transition Form Factors
The axial N-> Delta(1232) transition form factors are calculated within the
light cone QCD sum rules method. A comparison of our results with predictions
of lattice theory and quark model calculations is pre- sented.Comment: 31 Pages, 9 Figure
The relative importance of electron-electron interactions compared to disorder in the two-dimensional "metallic" state
The effect of substrate bias and surface gate voltage on the low temperature
resistivity of a Si-MOSFET is studied for electron concentrations where the
resistivity increases with increasing temperature. This technique offers two
degrees of freedom for controlling the electron concentration and the device
mobility, thereby providing a means to evaluate the relative importance of
electron-electron interactions and disorder in this so-called ``metallic''
regime. For temperatures well below the Fermi temperature, the data obey a
scaling law where the disorder parameter (), and not the
concentration, appears explicitly. This suggests that interactions, although
present, do not alter the Fermi-liquid properties of the system fundamentally.
Furthermore, this experimental observation is reproduced in results of
calculations based on temperature-dependent screening, in the context of
Drude-Boltzmann theory.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure
Light-Front Approach for Heavy Pentaquark Transitions
Assuming the two diquark structure for the pentaquark state as advocated in
the Jaffe-Wilczek model, there exist exotic parity-even anti-sextet and
parity-odd triplet heavy pentaquark baryons. The theoretical estimate of
charmed and bottom pentaquark masses is quite controversial and it is not clear
whether the ground-state heavy pentaquark lies above or below the strong-decay
threshold. We study the weak transitions of heavy pentaquark states using the
light-front quark model. In the heavy quark limit, heavy-to-heavy pentaquark
transition form factors can be expressed in terms of three Isgur-Wise
functions: two of them are found to be normalized to unity at zero recoil,
while the third one is equal to 1/2 at the maximum momentum transfer, in
accordance with the prediction of the large-Nc approach or the quark model.
Therefore, the light-front model calculations are consistent with the
requirement of heavy quark symmetry. Numerical results for form factors and
Isgur-Wise functions are presented. Decay rates of the weak decays Theta_b+ to
Theta_c0 pi+ (rho+), Theta_c0 to Theta+ pi- (rho-), Sigma'_{5b}+ to
Sigma'_{5c}0 pi+ (rho+) and Sigma'_{5c}0 to N_8+ pi- (rho-) with Theta_Q,
Sigma'_{5Q} and N_8 being the heavy anti-sextet, heavy triplet and light
octet pentaquarks, respectively, are obtained. For weakly decaying Theta_b+ and
Theta_c0, the branching ratios of Theta_b+ to Theta_c0 pi+, Theta_c0 to Theta+
pi- are estimated to be at the level of 10^{-3} and a few percents,
respectively.Comment: 33 pages, 3 figures, version to be published in Phys. Rev.
Comparison of some Reduced Representation Approximations
In the field of numerical approximation, specialists considering highly
complex problems have recently proposed various ways to simplify their
underlying problems. In this field, depending on the problem they were tackling
and the community that are at work, different approaches have been developed
with some success and have even gained some maturity, the applications can now
be applied to information analysis or for numerical simulation of PDE's. At
this point, a crossed analysis and effort for understanding the similarities
and the differences between these approaches that found their starting points
in different backgrounds is of interest. It is the purpose of this paper to
contribute to this effort by comparing some constructive reduced
representations of complex functions. We present here in full details the
Adaptive Cross Approximation (ACA) and the Empirical Interpolation Method (EIM)
together with other approaches that enter in the same category
The transition form factors for semi-leptonic weak decays of in QCD sum rules
Within the Standard Model, we investigate the semi-leptonic weak decays of
. The various form factors of transiting to a single charmed
meson () are studied in the framework of the QCD sum rules.
These form factors fully determine the rates of the weak semi-leptonic decays
of and provide valuable information about the non-perturbative QCD
effects. Our results indicate that the decay rate of the semi-leptonic weak
decay mode is at order of .Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures, revised version to be published in Eur.Phys.J.
Raditive decay of single charmed baryons
The electromagnetic transitions between () and
() baryons are important decay modes to observe new hadronic
states experimentally. For the estimation of these transitions widths, we
employ a non-relativistic quark potential model description with color coulomb
plus linear confinement potential. Such a description has been employed to
compute the ground state masses and magnetic moments of the single heavy flavor
baryons. The magnetic moments of the baryons are obtained using the spin-flavor
structure of the constituting quark composition of the baryon. Here, we also
define an effective constituent mass of the quarks (ecqm) by taking into
account the binding effects of the quarks within the baryon. The radiative
transition widths are computed in terms of the magnetic moments of the baryon
and the photon energy. Our results are compared with other theoretical models.Comment: 06 Pages, Presented at XVIII DAE-BRNS symposium on High energy

Anisotropic flow of charged hadrons, pions and (anti-)protons measured at high transverse momentum in Pb-Pb collisions at TeV
The elliptic, , triangular, , and quadrangular, , azimuthal
anisotropic flow coefficients are measured for unidentified charged particles,
pions and (anti-)protons in Pb-Pb collisions at TeV
with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Results obtained with the
event plane and four-particle cumulant methods are reported for the
pseudo-rapidity range at different collision centralities and as a
function of transverse momentum, , out to GeV/.
The observed non-zero elliptic and triangular flow depends only weakly on
transverse momentum for GeV/. The small dependence
of the difference between elliptic flow results obtained from the event plane
and four-particle cumulant methods suggests a common origin of flow
fluctuations up to GeV/. The magnitude of the (anti-)proton
elliptic and triangular flow is larger than that of pions out to at least
GeV/ indicating that the particle type dependence persists out
to high .Comment: 16 pages, 5 captioned figures, authors from page 11, published
